Community Action Prevents Child Marriage in Namtumbuka Ward
A young man trained in GBV prevention learned of a planned marriage involving a 14-year-old girl. After family dialogue failed, he referred the case to ward authorities through the proper referral mechanism. The marriage was stopped and the girl continued her normal life; her parents confirmed there are no further plans for early marriage.
“Protecting a child is everyone's responsibility, even when it is not easy.”
