1. Who we are
BAKAID Tanzania (registration no. 00NGO/R/1805) is a non-governmental organisation based at Plot No. 209, Block 47, Tale Street, Mpakani B, Kijitonyama, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. We are responsible for the personal information collected through this website. We handle personal information in line with the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022 of the United Republic of Tanzania and our Data Protection Policy.
2. Information we collect
We only collect information that you choose to give us:
- Contact form: your name, email address, optional phone number and your message.
- Job Portal: your account details (name, email, phone, password), your profile (such as region, education and experience), your CV and the applications you submit, including cover letters.
- Whistleblowing form: the details of your report, and your name and contact details only if you choose not to report anonymously. We do not record the IP address of people who submit a report.
Browsing the public pages does not require you to give us any personal information.
3. How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiries and messages.
- To assess job applications, contact candidates and keep you informed about the status of your application.
- To review and act on whistleblowing reports in confidence.
- To keep the website secure and working properly.
We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Sharing your information
Your information is seen only by BAKAID staff who need it for the purpose above, for example the human resources team for job applications and designated senior staff for whistleblowing reports. We may share information when the law requires it, or with the relevant authorities where a report concerns a crime or a risk to someone’s safety.
5. How long we keep it
Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry. Job Portal accounts and CVs are kept until you delete your account; you can do this at any time from My Profile, which also deletes your applications. Whistleblowing reports are kept for as long as needed to complete the review and any follow-up action.
6. Security
We protect your information with secure connections, password protection, restricted staff access and private storage for CVs and evidence files that cannot be reached from the public website. No system is completely secure, but we work to prevent unauthorised access, loss or misuse.
7. Cookies
The website uses one essential cookie to keep you logged in and to protect forms against misuse. It is deleted when you close your browser. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
8. Your rights
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to withdraw your consent. Job Portal users can view, correct and delete their own information directly in their account.
