BAKAID applies a community-centred, participatory and systems-strengthening approach across six programme areas, linking health, protection and livelihoods so that vulnerable households can thrive.
HIV/AIDS, Health & SRHR
BAKAID delivers HIV prevention for adolescents and youth, treatment adherence and retention support, psychosocial support groups, sexual and reproductive health education, and care for orphans and vulnerable children.
BAKAID engages faith and community leaders to transform harmful norms, prevent gender-based violence, connect survivors to quality services and advance the rights of women and girls.
BAKAID strengthens household resilience through savings groups, women-led businesses and agricultural value chains, so that families can afford health care, school and nutrition.
BAKAID equips communities to monitor and improve the services they receive, linking service users, community volunteers and health facilities through accountability mechanisms.
BAKAID uses faith-based platforms and community dialogue to advocate for HIV, SRHR and GBV responses, promote peaceful coexistence and hold duty bearers accountable.
As Regional Coordinating Unit for the National Multisectoral ECD Programme in Kigoma, BAKAID brings government and partners together to give children aged 0–8 the best start in life.
