A. ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

BAKAID Tanzania, formerly known as BAK-AIDS, was established in 2004 under the umbrella of The National Muslim Council of Tanzania (BAKWATA) to support national efforts in addressing socioeconomic development and emerging health challenges. Since its inception, BAKAID has been actively engaged in coordinating strategic plans, training, implementation, and evaluation of health and social service interventions targeting Muslim communities across Tanzania.

In 2021, BAKAID was officially registered as a Non-Governmental Organization under the Non-Governmental Organizations Act No. 24 of 2002, with registration number 00NGO/R/1805.

Currently, BAKAID is implementing several projects in Kigoma Region, including the Afya Hatua Project, funded by Tanzania Health Promotion Support (THPS). As part of this initiative, BAKAID is seeking to engage an eligible and qualified vendor for the supply of Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) instructional materials across the eight councils covered by the project in Kigoma Region.
